| Description of core activities | The Skampa Theater (or former National Theater) is located in the city of Elbasan. The building was built in 1935 with the funding of Xhavit Bay Biçakçiut [1] as a gift to the city of Elbasan. The building is designed by the architect Halit Narazani and is the most important building with a cultural function in the city of Elbasan. The hall has a capacity of 292 seats. The acoustics of this theater is one of the best in Albania and one of the best in the Balkans.
In the theater “Skampa” besides the regular repertoire are organized a lot of festivals and other activities for young people. The Ensemble of the Theater “Skampa” has performed more than 30 plays and comedies, including the show “Roman Family”, which is considered one of the most successful. Particularly popular among the fans of the theater are the performances of “Servant of Two Masters”, “Two Shots in Paris”, “Hell Angels”, “Tournament”, “Viper”, which carry the “stamp” of this theater. The actors who were part of these performances are carriers of the most prestigious awards in the field of art and culture such as “Artist of the people”, “Merited artist”, “Alexander Moisiu” etc. |
