Faculties are organizational units within the University that operate through the Faculty Council and within the University’s policies approved by the University Board or the Executive Committee. The South East European University consists of five faculties: the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies, the Faculty of Languages, Cultures and Communications, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Contemporary Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Business and Economics.

The university mission is defined in the Statute (December 1, 2008) and aims excellence in teaching and research within the higher education system in the Republic of Macedonia, by offering equal opportunities for everyone on the basis of impartiality and merit. Active co-operation with universities in the Republic of Macedonia and international universities is one of the key elements of the university’s mission.

The main goal under which this university is led and managed is the contribution to higher education in Albanian, where through a mutual interethnic understanding, aims to provide multilingual and multicultural approaches to teaching and research by developing study programs of the broad European and international experience

The governing bodies of the University are the University Board, the Rector, the Senate, and the Rector’s Council.

South East European University is ranked third at state level among 19 universities in the Republic of Macedonia. This ranking is made by external evaluators – Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
