Today, in the presence of the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Macedonia, Samuel Žbogar, the Municipality of Gostivar and Metamorphosis Foundation signed Memorandum of Cooperation for the Smart Tourism Enhancement Project (STEP).
On behalf of Municipality of Gostivar and Metamorphosis Foundation, the Memorandum was signed by the mayor Arben Taravari and the executive director Bardhyl Jashari respectively.
The project aims at promoting a vibrant touristic cross-border sector that effectively adapts to the needs of both domestic and international markets and contributing toward growth acceleration of and job creation stimulation in the cross-border tourism zone between Macedonia and Albania, more specifically in the regions of Gostivar and Elbasan.
In keeping with the Memorandum, the Metamorphosis Foundation commits to promote the values of all potential locations and possibilities for tourism development in the Polog region, whereas the Municipality of Gostivar should provide information, expertise and experience and also to spur the small and medium-sized enterprises as well as all stakeholders to actively contribute to attaining project’s objectives.
The duration of the Memorandum of Cooperation is from 19 March 2018 to 31 March 2020. The project is financed by EU’s Cross-Border Cooperation Programme.
